Key Accounts Manager

An exciting opportunity with a fast-growing legal publisher 

We are on the look-out for an experienced Key Accounts Manager, who will provide a first-rate service to our many customers and prospective customers.

Globe Law and Business is a successful, independent publisher of high-value content for the international legal community.  Our markets are competitive and making effective contact with our customers is key to our success. 

Following the successful launch of our digital platform, we have a great opportunity for an experienced  professional who is comfortable developing relationships with a mix of new and established accounts. 

To succeed, ideally you will already have great contacts with knowledge managers and other information professionals in the legal sector and will understand how legal markets work, particularly in the larger firms.  You could have a background in knowledge management or in legal publishing or software. 

You will be well organised and above all, will have the integrity, discipline and intellect to build long term relationships with the major professional service firms, often working across multiple offices.  

You will be home-based, and will be joining a company that prides itself on creating a friendly, supportive environment in which to work.  You will need good access to central London in order to attend meetings once or twice a month.

Earnings potential is significant, with a competitive basic salary and a very attractive performance related package. Sales territory is worldwide.

Publishing Assistant

An exciting opportunity with a dynamic professional publisher

Globe Law and Business is a successful, independent publisher of digital content, books and journals for the international legal community. Our markets are competitive and making effective publishing decisions is key to our success.

Our new Publishing Assistant will be a graduate aiming to make their career in publishing, either as a new entrant to the jobs market, or as someone looking for a change of career.

We are all home-based, and pride ourselves on creating a friendly, supportive environment in which to work. Reporting to our Managing Director, the successful applicant will need good access to central London in order to attend meetings every week or other week.

This is an interesting and varied job with the potential for career progression in commissioning. Here’s a flavour of what’s involved, and what would be useful to equip you for the role.

What the job involves

  • Help track manuscripts from submission to publication;
  • Provide administrative support leading up to publication, including chasing authors for delivery of submissions;
  • Deal with email queries from authors and contributors;
  • Research new projects and potential areas for publication;
  • Attend author meetings, take notes and follow up as necessary;
  • Assist with editorial in certain tasks such as checking final proofs;
  • Support the marketing effort including dealing with author questionnaires, helping to define key sales messages, checking marketing copy and occasionally attending events.

What we’re looking for

Above all, you will need excellent organisational and relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively with authors and colleagues. Job specific skills include:

  • Evidence of strong written and spoken English
  • Strong organisational skills
  • First class attention to detail
  • Confidence when working with authors
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work to deadlines and budgets
  • A high degree of commercial acumen (if the basics are there, we can help you develop this)
  • Demonstrable interest in print and digital media
  • Familiarity with Office365, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Publishing or legal experience useful but not essential
